Propellerhead Record

Propellerhead Record is a leading-edge software studio geared toward the recording musician. It is both powerful and easy to use. Record empowers you to record, arrange and mix your music. It also offers MIDI sequencing via its ID8 virtual instrument. Record can be integrated with Propellerhead Reason to form a full virtual studio with a large library of sounds and instruments. It is cross-platform, which means that it installs and works identically on both Macintosh computers and PCs.

Record in the Classroom

We teach Record in our Level 1 & 2 courses. It is an excellent program for beginners and intermediate audio production students. We use Record to introduce students to the rudiments of recording, editing, arranging and mixing. We find that Record is most effective when it is combined with Reason, which adds numerous high quality virtual instruments and a large sound library. For many students this combination is a total solution for their audio production needs. Other students will want to expand their knowledge and capabilities with some of the other software tools that we teach.
